You should start brushing your baby’s teeth as soon as they appear in the mouth. Brush your baby’s teeth and gums twice daily after meals to remove plaque and help establish a healthy brushing routine.
Yes, the Aquafresh Training toothpaste is safe to swallow when used as directed (from 3 months and above) as it has been specially formulated for babies and toddlers.
- no fluoride

Fluoride is the main ingredient used in most toothpastes to protect against cavities. However, a condition known as dental fluorosis (white spots on permanent teeth) can develop if a child receives too much fluoride during early tooth development. The Food and Drug Administration doesn't recommend fluoride toothpaste for children under two years of age unless recommended by a dentist or health professional because children under two do not have control of their swallowing reflex and do not have the skills yet to expectorate the toothpaste properly.
Cavities are caused by dental plaque, a sticky deposit made of food/milk residues and bacteria accumulating on the teeth. Regular, twice daily removal of plaque with a small, soft-bristled toothbrush specially designed for babies (such as the Aquafresh Training toothbrush) will help protect your child’s teeth against decay.
There is no active ingredient but the purpose of this toothpaste is to get your baby accustomed to the taste/texture of dentifrice in their mouth and to the sensation of having their teeth brushed. This paste is intended to be used on a baby toothbrush such as the Aquafresh Training toothbrush which will help clean your baby’s teeth and provide him/her with the brushing experience from very early on.
No, the purpose of Aquafresh Training toothpaste is to get your child accustomed to brushing. Teething pain can be helped by specific pain relief gels and medications (ask your dentist or pediatrician about those).
Aquafresh Training toothpaste is available in natural Apple-Banana flavor.
As with any oral healthcare product, if irritation occurs, discontinue use.
